TL;DR! My boyfriend (28M) took another girl to an event as his date without telling me (27F)

My boyfriend of 2 years recently went to a gala event where everyone had a date. Most of the attendees brought their significant other. He asked me to come but I wasn’t able to make it for that night.

I found out through pictures that he ended up going to the event with another girl as his plus one. I’m conflicted on how to feel because part of me is thinking its not serious but I’m upset that he didn’t tell me he was going with another girl ( who is his friend, I’ve never met her tho and he has never talked to me about her ever ). This makes me wonder what is going on between them. I don’t want to feel like I am in competition with someone else.

Am I over reacting?? I don’t know how to bring it up with him. Any advice or perspective on this would be helpful
