I (f19) am almost positive that my dad has been cheating on my mom. (They're in their 50s.) Over the years I've found several suspicious things, but I dismissed them because I didn't want to believe it. But lately it's been eating me up inside.
Here's what I've found: - Once when borrowing my dad's laptop, I took a look at his internet history (I was trying to get back to a tab I accidentally closed). Lots of sex web cams, porn sites, and erotic chat rooms. - He left his phone unlocked and I glanced at the screen to see a message from an unknown number. The message was extremely sexual. I googled the number and it was from an escort service located in a city nearby. - A few weeks ago, he mistakenly texted me "What hotel, when you want to meet" and I was shocked. I knew that it wasn't meant for me and didn't reply. A little while later he sent another message, claiming that he meant to text a coworker about hotel arrangements for an upcoming conference? Would you talk to a coworker like that?... And the "conference" never happened. - He's always isolating himself to take phone calls. Sometimes when I'm visiting my parents, I see him at the end of the driveway late at night on his phone. When I ask him about it, he gets extremely defensive and nervous.
Obviously I'm not 100% sure that he is cheating. Am I just being paranoid and overthinking things? I love my mom and I don't want her to get hurt. Should I tell her what I've found or leave it alone? I'm extremely unsettled about the whole thing and I really don't want to ruin my relationship with my dad.
