I (21F) have been seeing this guy (20M) for over three months now. Everything has overall unraveled in a pretty smooth manner. We’ve had some altercations here and there, but nothing too intense. On Christmas Day, we had exchanged gifts and he had gifted me a very nice purse I was immensely grateful for. I, on the other hand, had given him a cozy sweatshirt and some hiking apparel.
Two nights ago, we went out to dinner. When we got back to my place, we got into a bad argument. He stormed out of my house and the next morning we both had apologized to each other. Today, we decided to meet up and hangout again after we had made up. When he arrived, he confessed to me that he walked out of my house with my TV controller the night we had argued. (I have no idea as to why he would do that?). After him confessing that, I attempted to take it lightly and jokingly said that he should have just walked out with the purse he had gifted me instead if he was that angry. To my surprise, the purse was not laying in its usual spot I usually leave it at and he ultimately confessed he had taken that too out of “frustration” and “anger” during our argument. Initially, I was shocked and didn’t know how to react to this. Afterwards, I felt very disrespected and disgusted. It was not so much about the purse, but more about the principle behind it. When you gift something, you do it out of heart and never for a second think about snatching it away during a dispute with your partner.
This situation overall felt very tacky and disappointing. He kept apologizing to me afterwards and even teared up. However, I asked him to leave my house. Any suggestions or advice on what to do next? Anything is appreciated. Thank you.
TL;DR: Guy I have been seeing over three months now had gifted me something for Christmas. Tonight he confessed he took the gift back after our dispute that took place two nights ago.
