How do I [13M] politely tell my friend [13M] that I don't want to play video games with him anymore for the day

We have been friends for about 3 years now. We call each other every day to play video games.

After a while, I'll get tired of playing and want to leave so I make up an excuse like having to go do laundry or something. The problem is that he'll ask when will I be back to play. I feel bad so I come back to play with him after a few minutes of pretending to do the laundry.

Then the rest of the day is spent with me sitting at my chair and playing video games.

Every time I tell him that I'm going to stop playing, he'll ask why and when can I play again.

EVERY TIME

The only time it does work is when I tell him that I'm tired because it's 9 P.M. and that's when I'm supposed to go to sleep.

One day I texted him that I wasn't in the mood to play that day. He replied with a crying emoji and saying that it was fine and for me to enjoy my night.

I felt terrible and decided to never outright tell him that I didn't want to play and to just make up an excuse instead.

I never have time to do my own things since half my day is spent playing with him online.
