My [M20] girlfriend [F20] of one year surprised me with a puppy for Christmas and I feel horrible. Why did she do this? What should I do?

He’s adorable and all but he’s a heeler mix which isn’t my favorite breed and I wasn’t expecting this and I’m not sure if it’s puppy blues or something because he has already worn me down so much and I’ve only had him 2 days now but I feel terrible. I feel horrible for feeling bad, like a bad person and a bad boyfriend. Ive been saying I want a dog but like who doesn’t say that when they see cute dog posts on Instagram? Idk if I want to get rid of him or keep him, he’s so sweet and that would be mean to him and my girlfriend but I’m not sure if I can keep this up.

Tl:dr was given puppy, now sad.
