My[18M] parents[50s] purposely embarrass me whenever I’m with other people, yet they complain when I get embarrassed being with them around others.

Man they just don’t see it. Ever since I was little, they would make the effort to unnecessarily embarrass me when i’m with my friends.

For example, they could be talking with my friend about how he got an A on his examination, then they would say something like “oh that’s so good! Unlike someone(referring to me)”.

It’s so awkward and pointless but I don’t know why they still do it. I legit hate going out with my parents when I know that I would see someone I know. Then they put me in a bad spot for being like that... c’mon man.

Anyone else have parents like that?

TLDR: parents complain that I’m embarrassed about being with them, yet I think they are the root of the problem
