What would you do if you were me in this situation?
I’ve been married to my husband (Bryan) for six years. Yesterday my husband was acting weird and he just didn’t seem himself, he seemed anxious. I asked him what was wrong and he said that we will talk later . I was confused but I was in a rush to go to a doctor appointment. (I’m six months pregnant and have a four year old son, by the way.) I came back home and my best friend was there, I’ll call her Allie. I was puzzled but happy to see her. I asked why she was here and she told me to follow her. Bryan was sitting on the couch and Allie sat down. I asked what was going on and my husband said that a couple days ago they had relations at a work party. (They both work at the same company and that’s how I met him, through Allie.) Bryan said they were both drunk and they don’t remember having sex but they woke up in the same bed naked. Allie woke up and was dazed and she jumped out of the bed and screamed. Bryan woke up and was really confused and they both felt guilty and knew they had to tell me what had happened. After they told the story I was quiet and Bryan started crying. Allie was rubbing my back and I pulled away. I walked into the kitchen and started making dinner. I was really upset and when I’m upset I don’t say anything. Bryan walked in and I told him to leave me alone. He said that he understood and that he loved me then he walked away. Allie came in and said that she wants to remain friends with me but if I don’t want to be her friend she understands. I told her to get out of my house and she said “why would you want to throw our 20 year friendship away?” And I yelled “why did you have sex with my husband?” She started crying and she said “I’m so sorry, please forgive me”.I said nothing and she left my house. Later on I called my mother and told her the situation. She told me to stay with Bryan because we have a child and one coming on the way. She said it was just an accident what happened and that he was honest about everything. But I don’t know how to feel. I feel numb. I see both my friend and husband differently. I went to bed in the guest room that night and Bryan came in. He said that he loves me and only me and he wants to be my husband forever. I was quiet and he told me to say something. I told him to let me sleep, I’m tired. He laid down next to me and I told him to give me space. He said that he understands and he walked out.
What would you do if this happened to you? I feel betrayed and empty.
tldr: my husband of six years cheated on me with my best friend while drunk and they both want me to forgive them. I have a baby on the way and a son with him and I don’t know if I should forgive him or if I should get a divorce.
