I was flying home from visiting my sister and was scheduled to get in late. We live together and it's only about 15 minutes from the airport. He doesn't have a set schedule and usually goes into work whenever he wants as long as it's before 10. My flight gets delayed 20 minutes (arrival around midnight now) and he decides he doesn't want to pick me up. I was annoyed at take off finding this out, but it's late. I understand. The more I got thinking of it though, the more selfish I saw it. He has no strict obligations to be up at an early time and can't take 30 minutes to pick me up from the airport. I work at 7 am and usually wake up by 6 am to get ready. On the nights I work the next morning I want to go to sleep by 930 so I can get fully rested. He tries to keep me awake because he's not ready for bed yet and will end up keeping me up until 10-1030.
It just made me feel really insignificant and underappreciated. I also feel dumb because I feel like I'm blowing it out of proportion. It was just an airport pick up. What do you think?
Also, he ended up waking up at 930 anyway. More than 8 hrs of sleep...
Tl;dr Boyfriend constantly keeps me up when I have to wake up early but didn't pick me up from the airport at midnight because he wanted to sleep - no early morning commitment.
