UPDATE: I (F 24) been dating a guy (M 26) and I want to break things off because he's going too fast. Am I overreacting for thinking it's a red flag?
Well, broke things up two days ago.
It's been a little bit like a mess. He couldn't accept it at first (I told him I wasn't feeling it and that I wanted to break things up,) and he pleaded, and begged that "he wanted me to stay", that "why I didn't want to get to know him better?" but I was firm. It was during a phone call I did for that aim.
The next day he asked for a more detailed explanation through message and I just said there wasn't anything else to say. He accepted it and we said goodnight.
Today he messaged me saying "he couldn't understand some things" and if I could call him to answer some questions. I told him I wouldn't: that I was clear and my stance was that, but that I wished him the best.
He got angry and sad and told me he was hurt, he was upset, that when "people hurt him" he couldn't be kind, that he told his friends what I did to him and they were sad.
Also told me that today he wanted to insult me but he contained himself.
He told me - also - he cried the whole two days and that he couldn't stand me anymore. Also tweeted and wrote on Facebook several stuff like "life never lets me be happy", "I can't sleep because of you", "I miss you", "you give a fuck and I love you."
Ended up blocking him and I feel awful.
TL;dr: Ended up breaking up things with the guy and he ended up lashing out.
