Hey guys.
Really in need of some advice or guidance.
So my boyfriend (22m) and I (20f) have been together for almost a year and a half. We have had a really great relationship. I am super close with him and his family and see them at least once a weekend. This is his longest relationship and the healthiest relationship we’ve both had.
However lately I have been noticing his distance towards me. I went out of town to visit family and he was not openly excited about me coming home. He didn’t pick me up from the airport because of a football game so his sister picked me up.
He stopped showing affection to me a while ago but we still had a good relationship. But I started to feel more like his best friend than his girlfriend.
Yesterday I went to talk to him about me feeling this way , and he reciprocated and felt like he didn’t treat me the way I needed to be treated and basically we broke up.
However he continued to text me like normal and told me he needed time. I still need more details on to why he just broke up with me instead of us working on the issues first.
I asked today if I could come talk to him to get some more answers and he said he was still very upset and to just give him until the weekend. But I am so confused because this came out of nowhere but he said he has felt this way on and off for the last six months.
What do I do?
I don’t want the relationship to be over but I also don’t want to overwhelm him if he does need time.
TL;DR- - my boyfriend broke up with me unexpectedly but says he just needs time. I want to be with him still. What do I do.
