Our [35F, 36M] across the street neighbor [60-somethingF] yells to/at us

Background: Long story short, we butted heads with our actual neighbor over her dog barking excessively as my husband is a ICU RN who works nights. After a lot of tension, I brought over cookies (and dog-safe cupcakes) to apologize. I acknowledge that they have made an effort, we were jerks, and we are also working on things on our end (ear plugs, updating our window, etc.). Since then, the neighbor and us have kept to ourselves.

The issue is the across the street neighbor is an elderly lady who is our neighbor's friend, and she has decided to interject herself with our everyday life. This includes on several occasions:

  1. Yelling obscenities at us, such as calling us f-ing a-holes, losers, etc.
  2. Yelling comments such as, "If they wanted peace and quiet, they should have moved to the country!" or "I hope they f-ing moving soon! Nobody likes them here!"
  3. Encouraging the neighbors dog to bark even more.
  4. Threatening to light fireworks by our house to create even more noise.
  5. Encouraging her granddaughter, who is between 10-12 years old I think, to also yell obscenities at us too, and she does!
  6. Bark at our house while walking by. Yes, literally bark at our house.

Our actual neighbor doesn't do any of these things.

We have started to record these interactions on my phone to have a record of what is going on, but I have yet to consult with a legal team. The state I'm in, harassment is illegal, but the definition of harassment is loose. I'm not above trying to talk to them, but I don't know a good approach that wouldn't make her even more angry. You know those Karen videos that go viral? She could be a Karen, and I'm trying to avoid that to keep my cool.

Moving is not an option, unfortunately. The other neighbors don't have issues with us. They wave and say hello, but we do keep to ourselves. They are definitely the ladies who sit on their porch and hang out to gossip about other neighbors; our neighbor works part-time and her husband works 6 days a week and the across the street neighbor doesn't work but will watch her granddaughter some days.

TL;DR Elderly neighbor harassing us. Should I kill her with kindness or find legal ways to approach the problem? Anyone have similar situations?
