TL;DR: I need some ideas about how to handle a complicated cultural barrier.
My [31 M] girlfriend [28 F] of three (3) years is from a small town of China where, according to her, I need to wire $60K to her parents before I can marry her.
That is a gargantuan amount of money for me.
We live together in California, and we both have full-time jobs.
I love her with my whole heart and want to marry her, but if I did not know her, then I would be convinced that she is trying to scam me.
Moreover, her parents are against her being with (let alone marrying) a foreigner.
