After a year of living with my gf (26f) and her kids, I (36f) would place my socks at the end of bed to put on, before leaving the house. Most of the time, I would go to put on my socks and they would be gone. In my mind I would think the kids came through, being kids, would miss place my socks, they show up sooner or later. No biggie.
Last week, as we were getting ready to leave the house. I walk in the room to put on my socks and my gf is putting my socks on, that I left on the bed. I look at her and she's looking at me like "What?" I ask, if she's always put the socks on that's been placed out. She said "Well yeah, you're always doing thoughtful gestures for me, I thought the socks were placed out for me?" We had a good laugh. A whole year, of the disappearing socks, solved.
TL:DR My gf thought I was doing a cute gesture of placing socks out for her, for a year. When I actually solved the case of the missing socks for the last year.
