I'm a 21(F) and I met this guy 22(M) on a dating app. We have so much in common! We are both goth, like similar music, play video games and other nerd things, etc. We have been talking for a good while and finally met last week. Things were fine. We talked, cuddled, watched a movie, but when he finally leaned in to kiss me, I jumped up and made an excuse to leave. I thought maybe he forgot to brush his teeth or ate something bad and it would be a one time thing. We hung out again yesterday, and it was just as bad. I was able to smell it without even being close to him. When he talked to me I wouldn't look at him and at one point when I was eating I had to face the other direction and still managed to lose my appetite. Just a constant, bad odor. The reason I feel bad is because I know it isn't just poor hygiene. He revealed to me yesterday that he has problems with his teeth and he's getting them fixed. He said it causes problems eating, but never mentioned the odor, so I'm not positive he realizes it's there or how bad it is. It's getting to the point I don't want to see him again because despite all the things we have in common I just...can't. I don't want to kiss or be intimate or be near him. He's getting on my nerves as a person because of his breath. How do I approach this? Should I call it a loss and leave, or should I possibly offend him by kindly mention he needs to figure out how to fix it. (Yes, I did offer him a mint, and, no, it did not work.)
TL, DR: This guys breath is so bad I want to break up with him.
