I have been working at my current work place for around a year and my female co worker has been making comments that make me uncomfortable for quite a while now. I am not sure if I am being too overly sensitive but when I spoke to my friend about the comments, she was horrified and said that if a man had said the same things, then I would not be questioning if it was inappropriate, which is true.
Some of the comments she has made is as follows: - I was shaking up some developing lotion to dye my service users hair and she made a comment that I am 'out of practice' - She told me that her husband's penis 'fits perfectly into her vagina' ??? - She told me about her daughters sex life in way too much detail to point that I know what form of contraception they use - She said that I look like I have lost weight as my 'jeans look baggy on my ass' - We saw a tree with some white coloured substance on them and she exclaimed that it looked like c*m - She said that I would look 'glowing' if I got pregnant but then said that I would be 'neurotic' about my child for the first few months, not sure what that means??? - I mentioned off handedly that a character on tv was good looking and she laughed and said 'I think you're just horny as hell, I can recommend some toys for you if you would like to take care of that' - I also frequently catch her looking at my breasts. It is quite obvious that she is doing this and she makes no effort to cover it up
I am not sure whether this is normal conversation between friends and maybe she doesnt see me as a young woman that's the same age as her daughter and as her friend instead? Are these comments inappropriate? How should I go about trying to resolve this issue so that I can feel more comfortable at work?
Thanks for reading
TL;DR: Older colleague has been making sexual comments towards me at work. Not sure how to proceed
