My [23F] boyfriend [26M] of 3 years says I need a second job in order to be with him

I have a really good job right now, the only problem is I bought a new car a few months back. Since doing this he said I need to get a second job to pay off my car asap or else he would leave me. I like my car and don’t feel I need to pay it off right away. He says he doesn’t want to be with anyone who is in debt (referring to my car payment). I love him so much, but I don’t want the second job, considering I will be starting school in a few weeks and I work full time already and am paid above minimum wage. Do you think he’s fair in telling me to get a second job?

TLDR: I require a second job to continue to be in this relationship, not by my choice.
