Is it too much to ask my boyfriend (29M) to call me (29F) while he’s on vacation? Am I being selfish??

Is it too much to ask my boyfriend to call me once in a while he’s on vacation with the guys?? I want him to have fun with his friends and I don’t want him to feel like he has to check in with me constantly but I want to know if I’m being unreasonable.

I’m feeling really upset after what happened last night. I just asked him to call me once last night when he was heading home from the bar. That’s literally it. He calls me for .2 seconds (I say hello and he says hey sorry I’ll call you back in 5 minutes). So then an hour goes by and no phone call. I wasn’t sure what was going on so I try to call him back. He then again answers the phone the same way and says he’ll call me back in 5 minutes. Another hour goes by and no phone call so I’m starting to get upset. I don’t know what’s going on. I could tell he was really drunk even just taking to him for that short second. So I finally just text him that I’m going bed.

He then calls me at around 3:30 in the morning yelling and screaming at me saying how pathetic, negative and insecure I am. Goes on to say that he was about to get beaten up (which I obviously didn't know he didn't tell me?) and that I would rather him get into a fight and beaten up than not talk to me because I'm selfish. He seemed very drunk so I’m sure alcohol had a lot to do with this but I just start to cry. All I wanted to do was talk to him for a few minutes...I really don't think that's asking for too much?

He then says he doesn’t want to hear me crying because it's annoying and shitting on his vacation and then hangs up on me. I just feel so hurt and disrespected. I never treat him that way when I’m away on a trip. I texted him how he acted because I’m sure he won’t remember it this morning and I’m just going to leave it at that and not speak to him until he gets back.

Am I being selfish?? I thought keeping in touch with your partner was part of being in a relationship but maybe I’m wrong. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I just feel like he’s not respecting me at all :(
