(22M)(47F) I overheard my mother say she is going to kick my sister out because of her mental health

I went to my mother’s house yesterday to help her sweep rain water out of her garage. About an hour in she got a phone call so she went into the kitchen to talk to the person. I kept sweeping but a couple minutes later I heard her say “I’m asking (sister’s name) to move out next week. She really needs to get over her depression”. My sister (19F) has been dealing with severe depression and anxiety for the past two years after her best friend took her life and it worsened to the point where she dropped out of college last semester and moved home to take classes at a nearby community college. She has been really struggling the past couple of months and tried to overdose back in December but survived and is seeing a therapist.

My mother has not been supportive of her at all. She does not believe in mental illness and thinks my sister is weak minded and needs to grow up and get over her trauma. I know with 100% certainty that she will ask her to move out and my sister will end up moving in with me. I have zero problem with my sister living with me but I am scared of how my sister will react to being told she has to move out. My sister pays rent to my mother and keeps to herself but my mother is going to tell she needs to move out by next Monday.

Should I talk to my mom or inform my sister and say she can move in with me until she can find a more stable place?

TD;LR: I heard my mother say she is going to ask my sister to move out because of her mental health issues. I don’t know if I should talk to my mother or let my sister know ahead of time.
