I (17m) am turning 18 in April and graduating in May. My girlfriend of two years (16f) doesnt turn 18 until September 2024. So... Ill be in college while shes still in high school. Is this wrong? Should we break up?

My first idea was that it was cool but then I realized laws could be broken and I would tech be a pedo if we have sex after my birthday. I told her about my worries and she thinks im just trying to break up with her but dont have the balls to tell her the truth about how I feel. I even talked to her parents to convince her that im being real and her dad smiled like I was joking but then got straight faced and asked me why I was worried about this. I told him I was going to be an adult and she would be a kid still. He frowned and scoffed then asked if I was saying his daughter was immature. I tried to explain no but it's like he didnt get me because he basically cut the conversation off there saying I really shouldnt be worried about this if I care about my gfs feelings. My parents said I should talk to her parents which I already did.

Im just trying to do the right thing and cant get some straight advice without pissing someone off. Also I dont know why tf neither her parents or my parents seem to care as much as I thought they would.

TL;DR : Turning 18 soon and moving on to college while gf will be in high school. Is it inappropriate for us to keep dating? Getting mixed advice. Should we break up?
