TL;DR Husband( 31M) is becoming very religious . How can I overcome this situation
I’m 30 years, we have been together for 5 years and he recently started attending a Christian Orthodox Church. He wasn’t religious when we met or got married. Our wedding was not even a religious one. A few months ago he became very religious. He now goes to our bedroom every night and evening and prays for at least one hour, started to decorate our house with religious symbols, goes to church on Sundays for about 6 hours and donates them money.
I recently attended church with him and I feel like I didn’t fit in. The service was in Russian, women were covering their heads and the rituals were just very different to me.
I feel like his religion is affecting our relationship. He has said things that I don’t agree with like the husband is above the wife and that the wife should submit according to his religion. He also mentioned that when we have kids maybe I should stay with them and homeschool them. He knows I worked very hard to get a degree, I’m about to graduate and that’s never been our plan. EDIT. We finally agreed that each of us will work and that I won’t stay home because we can’t live with only one salary. When I asked him if he is still sure that men are above women, he said that what he meant did that traditionally men were the head of the household.
Two weeks ago while we were doing oral sex, I wanted to make a joke and I asked him if that was a sin, he said that he didn’t know. The next day he said that it is in fact a sin because it’s an unnatural act. He was even thinking of asking the priest for advice about this matter, which I think is crazy.
Last night, he wanted to have sex. I told him that I didn’t want to if we could not do oral sex. We ended up arguing, I mentioned that we are very different and that I don’t think our marriage is going to work.
