So my gf and I have had no major issues in our relationship at all. We have been together 3 months and I feel like this will go far considerably how compatible we are. However she said that she always wanted a promise ring and everytime she brings it up it annoys me because I don’t see the point of the promise ring if I could just get her an engagement ring if we get to that point. Of course I’m committed to her and I would hope she feels that I am as I haven’t shown any intention of hurting her or being shady. I’m an open book pretty much. But I just can’t rap my head around why she wants it so bad. She’s got deeply rooted trauma and had some bad relationships, but each time something has happened between us so far we resolved it pretty easily. I know how much it would mean to her, but I just don’t see why I should have to buy her a promise ring at some point. What should I do?
TL;DR Gf wants me to get a promise ring at some point, i’m not really into the idea. I would just get an engagement ring if we got to that point.
Edit: She doesn’t want a promise ring right now, just eventually at some point like around our year’s anniversary and beyond.
Edit2: also I was already kind of pushing back on it today when she mentioned it and now that I agreed to getting one she said that it “doesn’t matter because she had to push me to do so”
