Relationship length: 6 months
So one afternoon about a week ago she(F26, let call her X) and I (M21) were on a video chat and I was telling her about my current project on which I was working on, I was crafting a video for my company's website. I was working on it alone and sent the composition to my reporting manager(F27). She is a friend of my girlfriend (they are college friends, same batch). The manager watched the video and said will get on a call around 4:00 PM and will explain the changes required.
Quick note: X thinks that I like her friend(Reporting manager) a lot because she is much mature than her but I just inspire her she is a good person. Not in love or anything like that.
After this, I went on a call with my girlfriend.
While on a call with GF I casually mentioned, "around 4:00 PM I'll be working with the reporting manager to get the video done" she said okay and that's it we disconnected and went back to work and everything was normal.
The next morning, the reporting manager asked me, "why did you say that I was working with you the whole day ?". I asked when did I say that?
She said: You told X that I was working with you the whole day yesterday.
I replied: Nope, I said that you'll be working with me around 4:00 PM, that's it.
and then I said let's take her on call and ask her what she said, then manager replied she must be joking around leave it.
and it was also dropped there.
But I was curious to know why would she do that, reframing sentence and then using it on other people with my name on it.
I asked X that evening (28th May), Did you listened to me well yesterday?
She replied: Almost. And then called me.
We both were on call and were clearing things out, I put my point and said that my sentence was in future tense that I'll be working with her and she said yeah that's means you worked with her the whole day.
I said: Are you out of your mind? how is this the same thing?
she said: stop it or I'll be offended in girl's cheesy tone.
I said: Go ahead and disconnected the call.
And now I don't understand what to make of it. It's been around a week and we haven't spoken yet.
*\*
TL;DR - Girlfriend reframed my sentence in a negative way and not accepting the truth.
