I [24F] am staying with a family [6-47F&M] for six months in a new city. They aren’t charging me rent and are insistent on purchasing my groceries. What are some ways I can give back since they are being so kind?
Short and simple- I am staying with some family friends in a new city (Seattle) and they aren’t charging me rent or making me pay for any food, etc. at least until I have a job and am a bit more settled. I really want to show my appreciation and I am wondering what some ways are that I can do this, especially now since I have quite a bit of free time? I’ve already been doing a lot of housework/cleaning up without them asking me to but I am curious if there are other helpful things or unique ideas that I could do to be appreciative and give something in return since I don’t have monetary contribution at the moment?
TL;DR I am staying in someone’s home rent-free while I get a job in a new city. Besides cleaning what are ways I can show my appreciation and be helpful / not a burden during my stay here?
