I'm the first college graduate of my family and no one has congratulated me. I also landed a full-time unionized job too before even graduating and they still didn't congratulate me for my success. I even showed them my transcript that demonstrated my straight A average in my senior years of university (3 years out of 5 years), and all they had to say was "everyone's getting A's because of online school since the pandemic" or "good job" in a disappointing tone.
I'm the oldest of my siblings and no one in my family has helped me in school nor job searches. My family works in the bank and they always help my little brother get interviews in the bank (he never gets the job), but they have not once helped me or did any favors for me. I even got my brother two interviews at my previous workplace and he didn't even thank me (despite him not getting the job) nor even congratulating me for graduating and my success.
On top of that my family would consistently ask me "what are you going to do with your liberal arts degree in political science" in a disappointing tone, and they say "good luck" to me in a bland tone. Meanwhile, i'm making more money than each one of them and their double my age and nor is my brother and cousins even doing better than me despite all the hate and evil eye they put on me.
All of this has made me feel indifferent of my family members, angry, and motivated to work harder to move up the career ladder fast so i can move out into a condo and never speak to them again.
Tldr: my family hasn't congratulated me for graduating college and landing a good job even though we're in middle of a pandemic.
