I (M25) have a little problem with my gf (28), Our relationship has been running on four years. She feels shame because when we hang out. Especially at the restaurants. We've always splitting bills. Then she calls me a irresponsible man, because she think it's a more like friendship stuff to do, and it's not appropriate in a relationship for doing split bill stuff. And she feels if I'm doing that, it feels like I'm friendzoned her. Also for her, if I have no money to cover our hang out expenses, she said that we're rather hangout in her apartment.
As a illustration, I've graduated a months ago and still looking for a job. I know, I'm Borderline doomer. Also my family's economy are collapsed since 2014. We were scammed by a one of government employee in my region over an wood resources business. Even my computer was stolen by thugs there.
TL;DR: She's ashamed with me because she think paying bills while we hang out is my responsibility. And splitting bills more like friendship things to do in her opinion.
Edit: I forgot the detail about the friendzone stuff, I'm so sorry.
