I don't use this word ever but that is the only way I can describe his behavior towards me.
I work in a very small medical office with just my boss. I have one other colleague and she does not work while I am working. We do not have an HR.
A couple of months ago he would make comments about me looking tired or how I looked so tired that I seemed like I would fall asleep at my desk. I didn't feel like this was the case because with every instance he said this, I was not tired.
He has recently been embarrassing me in front of patients. I didn't give a patient a certain form because it is one that only goes to him and once the patient came to my desk to check out, he comes out to the hallway and says out loud "you forgot to include xyz!".
Once the office had no patients, I asked him about it and said I never gave that document to patients with him saying "yeah I know." I then told him that I didn't appreciate him saying that in front of patients. I guess that bothered him so he told me to not include another set of xyz to patients (to save paper?), then asked me "you do know where [something I learned the first day on the job] is in the computer, right?"
He also offered me cookies and when I politely declined, he laughed and said "yeah I didn't think so". I know a lot of this sounds menial but his tone and the way he says these things is not benign and it feels like he's trying to hurt me. He has made inappropriate comments about my relationship with my fiance, telling me I need to be absolutely sure he's "the one" since my boss is going through a divorce. Something he's gone too far into detail with me (how expensive/complicated it is). He went into depth about an ex-colleague's abortion.
I am looking for a new job and as soon as I land one, I am planning on putting my two weeks in. As for now, I don't know what to do about his comments towards me. I have never talked back or been rude to an employer, should I continue biting my tongue? I do want to ask him to stop but want to leave on a good note.
tl;dr: boss is negging me and I want to ask him to stop when it happens, don't know how to go about it or if I should even say anything.
