I just had a housewarming (apartment) party. All of my fiends (23-24) left by 11:15, I’m feeling like I failed as a host and very lame.
We have all been friends since we were like 16.
One thing to note, I’m the only single person in my friendship group. And for some reason having everyone leave so early is making me feel like they all only came out of pity because I’m all alone. I know that’s probably just my insecurity speaking.
One guy from the group had a housewarming party about a year ago and people all hung out super late, until 1-2. But it was a much more party atmosphere where he invited 10ish people from his college and had music and dark lighting etc. I was unsure how to host and we played a board game (everyone seemed to have a lot of fun, it was munchkin). I offered to go to the bars after, because I live downtown and they are literally 2 blocks away, but everyone just said they are too tired.
Is this just how it is for people in their mid twenties once they are in long term relationships? Am I being insecure feeling I’m lame?
Tl;dr had housewarming party and friends all left by 11:15. Feel like I’m lame.
Edit: it started at 7
