Someone impersonated me [30F] and contacted ex [38M] daughter [12F] on social media and spilled relationship

So i dated my ex who is 38 for like 4 months. I never met his daughter because she lives in another city and actually he hasnt told his daughter that he is starting to date etc because the daughter is still hoping him and his ex will get back together, so she would be heartbroken if she found out he’s dating others. I was fine with that. We broke up. Would text here and there but fizzled out. So he texted me recently super pissed that i found his daughter on social media and sent a message that him and I were together etc. So now obviously the kid is traumatized. But i never sent the message, not sure who would. He didn’t tell his ex about our relationship either. Cause she likes to start drama. What are my options here? I know it’s hard to track down who created this fake account in my name. Do i just let it go?

Tl;dr: someone impersonated me and contacted an ex’s daughter on social media and stated I dated her dad. Dad wanted to keep his dating life secret from daughter for now
