My [21F] mentally ill brother’s [17M] girlfriend [19F] is taking advantage of him and hurting him over and over, am I overreacting?

I’m really angry and hurt from how my baby brother is being treated. He’s a good kid, he has tons of hours of community service, he got his eagle scout award at 15, he’s really nice and my family is Christian, and he was smart enough to get into a big university close to home. My brother has some mental disorders that cause him a lot of pain and for him to still think like a younger kid, but he has managed to get by.

His girlfriend seemed to be a good girl, but she turned out to be a real Ahole. She’s cheated on him a bunch of times already and she’s basically rubbed it in my brother’s face and made fun of him for it since she knows about his disorders. Then she has left him so he could suffer then gotten back with him and it’s just a horrible cycle causing my brother so much pain.

He cries a lot and he has told me about how he wished he was “normal” and basically putting himself down and blaming himself for his girlfriend cheating. I’ve defended him and tried to talk with him about her but he just loves her so much and he doesn’t want her to go. I’m tired of her sht and I pulled her aside to talk with her. I told her to stay away from my brother and to leave him alone already since she was just casuing so many problems. She got upset and fake cried to me about loving my brother but I kicked her out.

TLDR: now I’m wondering if that was the right thing to do or if I overreacted? My brother has been more sad lately since she left and he’s blmaing himself for it. Was that the right thing to do? Or should I try to fix things?
