How do I break the news to my [27M] girlfriend [23F] that we were filmed having sex without our consent?

As the title states, my girlfriend Jenny and I were recorded having sex without our consent. Neither of us were even aware there was a camera involved.

Last week my girlfriend, myself, and a bunch of close friends spent the week of July 4th in Vegas. We all got our own rooms. My friend, Matt, had asked to use some of my cologne since he forgot his. I gave him my room key without a second thought. Apparently Matt and our other friend Lucas thought it would be funny to hide in our room to scare us later that afternoon. What they didn’t expect was my girlfriend and I returning to have sex. They hid in the closet and recorded the whole fucking thing. After Jenny and I finished up, we left to grab dinner with the rest of the gang as planned. That must have been when Matt and Lucas left our room.

Lucas came clean to me when we got home. I was incredibly pissed off and felt violated. I confronted Matt and he thought it was hilarious. The shit he said about Jenny didn’t help the situation at all. I made Matt delete the video and promise me he didn’t make any copies or show anyone else. I told him I’m heavily considering getting the police involved. I’m upset with Lucas for letting things get this far but I think I’ll give him some credit for telling me the truth.

I’ve cut ties with Matt and Jenny has noticed. She wants to know what’s going on and is concerned for me. I just don’t know how to tell her about the whole recording. I don’t want to hurt her.

I feel like an idiot. I should have done more to protect her. I don’t want to lie to her. I feel like there’s nothing I can do to help the situation.

Do I tell Jenny? What's the best way to break the news?

TL;DR: "Friends" recorded my girlfriend and I having sex. I know about it and I'm currently handling it. But I don't know how to tell my girlfriend without devastating her.
