My (22f) boyfriend (22m) of 2 years told me my love language is an insecurity.

We were talking about how he and his brother have similar sentiments when it come to saying "I love you", that if you have to say it/hear it to feel loved than its not really love. My boyfriend's primary love language is Quality Time. My primary love language is Words of Affirmation. I told him that his brother's wife and I had talked about that and that her and I have a similar love language and he replied saying "your love language is an insecurity."

I feel invalidated and belittled. I've told him I want to talk about it more later, but I want an unbias opinion about his comment and what people think about love languages.

We're supposed to be getting engaged and married soon, and I don't even know how to react to this.

TLDR; boyfriend said my love language is an insecurity; I feel offended and confused.
