My (29F) boyfriend (32M) of 7 months I have discovered is a blamer in arguments. Anytime we have a disagreement he turns it in to a full blown fight and ends up twisting everything and blaming me so it ends with me apologizing and feeling guilty for getting upset. I feel like I am walking on eggshells with him and I can't talk to him about anything like rational adults because he just gets angry. For example, we were going to his moms house close to dinner and I told him in the car I didn't want to stay long because I have to go home and cook dinner. Later at his moms he says well girlfriend wants to leave so it's time to go. I told him I was upset that he was making me the bad guy when he could have just said hey we need to go eat so it's time to go. He got mad and told me it was what I wanted and he didn't know what he wanted from me and just dismissed anything I tried to say. He is actually a good guy and there are so many things I love about him, I just don't know how to cope with his argument style. Do other people have experience with this type of person and how do you approach things so they don't just shut down and blame you for everything?
TL;DR - Boyfriend blames me for everything in arguments and I don't know how to approach things so we can communicate better.
