I recently found out my gf of 10+ years cheated on me with another man.
They've known eachother about 7 years, within the last 6 months, they formed a sexual relationship. She would see him once a month and stay over.
After i confronted her, she was very apologetic, and admitted everything that went on between them.
She agreed things will change, and that she will be 100% committed in this relationship. For the first week n half, things seem to be really looking up. She was very affectionate, something that lacked previously. This was a welcomed change. To gain trust she agreed I can look at her phone and FB. Sweet things are going good. Wrong. Shortly after the week n half, she started getting upset that I'm looking on her phone and FB, even though she said I could... She changed her pw on fb, suggesting she changed it so I cannot access it to reactivate it. What I noticed after she changed her pw, her block list previously had about 7 people (including this guy) but more it's only him. She unlocked everyone (included him) i confronted her, she admitted to unlocking him but assures that she didn't message him. That turned into an argument, she states she's an individual person and can do as she please. I should trust her word and not worry and drop the past. During my browsing on her phone, I noticed in her browser history that she's been searching him up on FB Needless to say, we argued and I agreed to stop looking on her FB and phone.
Since I'm no longer looking on her phone, my trust for her wares even more. So I asked if I logged into her FB at this moment, would this guy but be unlocked. She got defensive right away and said yes he's unblocked but never messaged him. To justify that action, she said it was a test to see if I was hacking into her account (I didn't).
She demanded she wants a break from all of this. Me fought to stay together.
Should I be doing what I'm doing? Should I accept what she wants and leave? I'm so torn.. I truly want to stay and work it out but it's so difficult..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening
