Hey guys. I never have posted on this sub reddit before (even though it is my throwaway account) as I'm just a young individual who hasn't dealt with major relationship/family problem before, but right now I have many emotions going through my head that I have no idea how I should react to this situation.
Two months ago, my parents mentioned someone who my sister was very close with has passed away due to cancer. I couldn't get a chance to visit her since I was at University but I texted her with some compassionate words just like a normal brother would do even though I didn't know who the person that died was. Fast-forward to June 7 where my mother has revealed who the person who died was. It turns out it was my sister's "brother". In my head, I was thinking "that's weird because technically he would also be my brother?" I never brought up that notion to my mother and continued like that was a normal thing, but then my mom shocked me by saying, "For four years, [sister's name] was staying at our home and we took care of her while her mother was in England". Again, I didn't question anything (so stupid of me) since I did not want to make things awkward and I completely forgot about this until something hit me today.
And here we go, today my dad mentioned that my sister is gonna host a barbecue with a bunch of 30+ year old strangers that I do not know and encouraged me to go. When I said no, he became angry and said, "You're always with your mother's side of the family and not mine". It seemed to come out of nowhere because the last time she hosted a barbecue (4 years ago) I went and nobody even knew who I was. In retaliation, I recalled what my mom said in early June and said "She was not born from my mom" and this where I was like what the fuck did I just say. Finally, my dad dropped a massive bombshell and said "That is true, but your sister has my blood".
Reality just hit me where it turns out that not only did my dad get my biological mother pregnant and had 3 kids (me, my 31 and 32 year old brothers), before that he got another woman pregnant and had two additional kids (My sister and the brother who died). I'm sorry if was extremely sloppy but I have no idea how I should feel right now since for 19 years of living on this planet I did not know my sister's mother is not my mom and my dad got two people pregnant.
TLDR; My sister's mother is not my mom, my dad got two women pregnant and is the father to all of us
