My [19F] roommate and best friend [18F], who I’m under contract to live with in freshman college dorms for the rest of the year slept with my boyfriend [20M].

My friend apparently walked in on them having sex in my boyfriend’s apartment, and immediately reported it to me. To make a long story short, I met up with my boyfriend yesterday night and asked him if it was true. He initially denied it, but then I told him about the details of what happened according to my friend and he finally confessed and starting crying, saying that it was just one mistake and that he’d never do it again.

Honestly, I don’t even remember what happened the next few hours. I just remember my eyesight turning red around the ages and wanting to hit him so badly. I stormed out of the building where we were in, ignoring his pleading, and drove back to my college parking garage. I then just laid my head on the steering wheel and cried for several hours. My boyfriend of 3 years, who started our relationship as freshman in high school fucked my best friend throughout my entire childhood.

I slept in my car, and woke up the next day from my phone ringing. My boyfriend sent me 7 voicemails and 19 texts. My best friend, along with her other friends, blew up my phone, too - my best friend alone sent 41 texts, many of whom were lengthy texts explaining what happened. They both said they were drunk, and regret it.

What should I do, Reddit? Should I forgive them? Is being drunk a good enough excuse for cheating?

And what should I do about the fact that I’m LIVING with my best friend in a college dorm? If we can’t mend ties, I still need to live with her for the rest of the year.

Finally, what should I do right now? I honestly don’t think I can meet up with either of them right now - I’m so angry and hurt that I think I’ll just end up hitting them or getting violent. I slept in my car, and am currently in a 24/7 library. I think I might end up sleeping in a library tonight, because I really don’t feel like I can confront my roommate.
