I recently today posted a picture on Instagram of myself, and it is the first thing that I have posted since me and my ex split. (We split a little over 2 months ago.) After posting, I also posted the same thing on my snapchat and I noticed my ex was the very first person to view all of my stories today. And then, After posting on snapchat my exe's mom replied to my Instagram story with clapping hand emojis, and I'm very confused as to if I should just ignore her reply or just say something like "hope you're doing well" or maybe even just like the comment. I'm quite thrown back because I do kind of still my want ex back and I do really respect her mom and always have had a good relationship with her mom, who I know now still does like me as a person. What's the right thing to do here? I'm not sure.
TLDR: Exe's mom Dm'd me on Instagram very randomly and not sure whether I should be polite and reply or just ignore.
