Boyfriend (30s) told me I'm(30s) acting like a 12 year old because I expressed how happy I was to see him after 2 weeks.

We know each other for about 2 years. In the beginning I knew he had problems with his emotions and how to show them because he got hurt in the past in past relationships. It felt like he was emotionally unavailable but I wanted to help him to discover how it works.

Now we are here, he can't express his feelings. Still after 2 years he can't. Can't say he loves me etc. Today we see each other for the first time in 2 weeks and I said I was happy to finally see him again. He said; there are we doing it for. I was finding that a weird anwser so I asked if he was also happy to see me. he said why am I asking this and stated I was looking for confirmation. Where I said I just was curious. He said I'm not a 12 year old. So I asked; is expressing my feelings to be happy to see you acting like a 12 year old? He said yes. I felt my heart ache at that moment.

I feel hurt right now. Earlier today he bought some things for the Xbox and litterly was so happy about it he acted like a kid in a kids store. Why can he expres his feelings there and not be bothered by it, but when I'm expressing my excitement about seeing him it's weird and acting like a 12 year old.

After 2 years he is still emotional unavailable. Are these red flags I cannot do anything about? Can I save this relationship?
