I (25F) gave birth a little over a week ago and my husband (26F) is pissed off that I didn’t allow his family over. Am I being unreasonable?
Hi Redditors,
I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I gave birth 11 days ago and during my stay at the hospital, my husbands family came to visit the next day after I delivered my baby. They also came over to our place twice after I was discharged from the hospital. Prior to him being pissed off with the whole ordeal of not allowing his family over one night, we had gotten into an argument and went to bed angry. That following day, he texted me saying he was bringing a friend over to see the baby. I told him to bring him over another day. He agreed to it. Later that day, he told me his family was planning on stopping by. I told him no, not tonight I don’t want anyone over (hence why I told him not to bring his friend) because I wanted to be left alone, I wanted my space, I wanted my rest. I’m tired, I’m exhausted, I’m in pain, we're not on good terms and I'm in no mood to put up a fake act like everything's okay.
My husband did not take this well. He thought it was wrong of me to not let his family in. He also thinks I have something against his family which isn't true at all because if that was the case, then I would have said something from the very beginning and would have allowed his friend over. My question is, am I being unreasonable?
TLDR; Husband is pissed off because I didn't allow his family over our place. I gave birth a little over a week ago and didn't let them over because my husband and I were not on good terms and I was tired, exhausted, in pain, and just not in the mood to deal with anything.
