My [22M] gf [23F] ditched me on my bday by gifted me “guy time” with my best friend [22M] rather than spending the time to think of an actual gift.

Throwaway for obvious reasons.

My 22nd birthday was about a week ago and I was pretty excited for the gift my gf kept hyping up. She has a kinda bad history with gifts (months late etc.) but I honestly don’t care that much because I know she cares about me and puts in a good amount of effort, at least for past gifts.

Well this year she must have struggled (which idk why she would hype the gift up so much beforehand, maybe she was expecting get something better), because she ended up gifting me “guy time” my best friend for a night to hang out. My best friend came to my house and we hung out for a bit while my gf “left us alone”. My buddy and I go out a lot together so this isn’t an unusual thing. I also knew he was coming over at some point for my bday because we talked about it, so it’s wasn’t really a surprise.

Am I in the wrong for being a bit disappointed and upset about this? Should I say something to my gf? Honestly all I wanted was a nice dinner or something that showed she cares about me, or at least a little time with her rather than her ditching me all day.

Again, I don’t really care about material gifts, I just would like it if she put in a little effort to show she cares about me. I haven’t said anything to my gf yet. Let me know what you all think… any opinions appreciated.
