I (30F) recently started a job where I’m being trained by a coworker (30F). I quickly noticed that she was extremely bossy and rude towards others, talking down to them, making fun of them, and generally bullying them. Nobody stood up to her or put her in her place, because they were afraid of her. She seemed to have an obsession with being in control and being superior to everyone.
One day, she tried talking to me the same way she talked to everyone else. I quickly called her out and put a stop to it. I was very clear that she wasn’t going to treat me like that.
Ever since then, it’s like she’s in war mode. She’s been very aggressive with me, trying to point out flaws in my work and trying to make me look stupid in front of other people, including management. She’s being vicious and downright cruel. It feels like her goal is to break me down and turn other people against me. For an adult to be acting like this is not normal and it’s getting scary, honestly.
Why would she be reacting like this?
TLDR: Stood up to coworker and now she’s going all out
