My [26m] friend [26m] keeps taking my ideas, jokes, thoughts etc. and then repeats them back to me and others as his own. How do I deal with this?

I have a friend who is one of my best friends but he keeps doing this thing where we will have a conversation and then a few days later or weeks will bring up the topic again and spit out exactly what I said like it was his own thought. For example, he’ll say “what do you think of such and such political candidate?” I’ll voice my idea and then let’s say a week later either alone or in a group he will say “I think that such and such political candidate is.....” and basically just repeat what I said. He will do it with funny things I say too. Just straight repeat them. What is going on? Has anyone ever experienced this? I feel like I’m going crazy. I feel like he thinks I just forget that that’s exactly what I said? Any help or insight would be great!

TLDR: friend takes things I say and then repeats them back to me at a later time like they were his.
